Hammerhead Show 2014

I've just returned from an enjoyable day at the Newark showground Cedric the hall the new venue for the Hammerhead show. I love the fact that every game is a participation game.

The venue is smaller than Kelham hall, last years venue but the lay out is nicer with all the traders around the edges and the games in the middle. The lighting is much better as well. My flash (although I try not to use it) didn't go off much when I'd left the setting to auto.

There was plenty of parking, which wasn't a problem at Kelham and good facilities including catering.

A successful move I think.

SOSDM's 15mm Scifi game Raid on Tourimoto Soko using Gruntz's rules. I gave this a go and had a blast.
The scenario was players forces were searching for a computer uplink to load a virus and bring down the planets defences ready for invasion.

My troops, a medium grav tank and an APC with....

..... a squad of troopers

15mm Scifi goodness. I liked the visor effect on these figures. It made me think that the face plate was lit up.

A light 15mm walker

My tank takes out the pill box and the laser designator inside. This saved us a lot of hits in following rounds. Guy's pinkies move up the left of the buildings.

My force hasd taken a beating from the blue tank top right and the drone on the road. So much so I've dismounted the squad who are hiding behind a building full of baddies. Next turn get a vehicle to shoot the building suppress the baddies and assault. The smoke next to me APC is another destroyed building. Luckily the buildings I'm flattening haven't contained an uplink!

The rest  of the table. 2 players have cleared the buildings to the left of the bridge and a player top left has driven the baddies from those buildings. Guy's pink hovery thing is skimming the river shooting up the building with the dish (could this be the uplink?).
