Having coped with the clocks going forward and mothers day I set off for Retford town hall and this years Cannon show. My sole aim to buy some brown inks. Plus meet up with friends.
Well, I achieved this and enjoyed I nice wander round this small show which I must say had some great games. The show was bigger this year with more traders. Some of whom did seem tucked away in corners. Some of the bring and buy prices were curious and brand new items could be purchased for the same price or less on the trade stands.
Unlike Hammerhead this show had lots of traders selling paints which, with Royal Mail's ban on posting paint, I am very grateful.
I once again failed to find the free parking. It is easy to get to but I habitually drive past the entrance and then can't be bothered going back round the ring road.
So what was the eye candy:

Caseshot Publishing's 'Go meek beyond the Ister' . The Roman commander admitted he was slightly out numbered by the barbarians due to a failure to finish painting the rest of the troops. The Dacian commander had banned these unseemly troops from the table. |

The game I didn't
photograph as it was heaving with kiddiewinks was Selby Park Wargames Club presentation
of ”Minifigs-miniwar!” a skirmish
wargame using Lego! There were at least 8 kids playing this, boys and girls and
they were having a great time.
The joy and a smaller
show is you do get time to chat to traders which I took the opportunity to do
so.
I'm now going to
round off a great day with a Sunday roast. Yum.
