Sheffield Triples today

In a last minute decision I am trekking over to Triples today.  I have had a look at the website and their are loads of traders and the games look interesting. Do I start my WW2 Blitzkrieg French collection? Or pick up more X Wing gear, or Crimean War Brits or Zulu War volunteer horse? Or none of the above. The joy of last minute decisions to go on a road trip with some of the chaps from the Conwy Wargames Club is that I don't have my usual list prepared. As I type I've just remembered Crooked Dice will be there and the have not Cylons from not Battlestar Galactica. Right I am now off to raid the piggy bank!

It's a sign

While clearing up rubble I finally found something really old. Previously I'd found cigarette packets that seemed old but were probably post WW2, and the oldest newspaper was from the 1970s. This time it's a snippet of a newspaper. What delighted me was that it mentions one of my favourite gaming periods the Anglo-Zulu war 1879 - which I assume makes this paper contemporary.

Is it a sign I should finally get around to painting my Zulus and British? or does the mention of the Afghan war and the fact the Perrys are going to bring out plastic British suitable for this period mean I need to branch out into a new period!

The Devil's Playground and free Terminators

My new Pike and Shotte supplement arrived with lovely free figure and a bonus Terminator sprue from Warlord Games. The supplement is gorgeous, full of pictures and seems well organised. I am looking forward to reading it. What really got me excited was the free Terminators. 2 standing and one crawling. They are nicely modelled and look simple to put together.
