Musings and ramblings of a wargamer who has decided to share my many photos of games played, shows visited and places of interest I've been too. I will first get all the photos loaded then I'll revisit and write up my notes, or more likely delve my memory. Plus over time I also want to write up scenario details of the games I've played and share new gaming ideas.

Saturday game
I'm starting to get behind with my game write ups. My aim has been to keep on top of the new games and at some point write up the old games. I'm now 2 new games a drift, both Battle Group Kursk. Tomorrow I'm playing another game a Black Powder Napoleonic, fighting again in the hotly contested El Valle. This time I'll be playing the French. Since I let Wellington down twice I hope I'll do the Emperor proud!

Donald Featherstone passed away
I was sad to hear that Donald Featherstone has passed away. He is a legend in the British hobby publishing around 40 books on war gaming, in addition there were loads of magazine articles. My first introduction to written rules was his book 'Wargaming Airborne Operations'. I loved it, mainly because as a youth I was fascinated with the battle of Arnhem having visited the battle fields. The other spark for my imagination was the pictures using Airfix figures which I had. Later in life this book was used to recreate the invasion of Crete using Rapid Fire rules. The books didn't introduce me to the hobby but helped understand it's potential.
My condolences to his family.

Other Partizan
I have returned safely with a minimal of impulse buys, Ainsty crowd barriers being the main one. Purchase wise I've had a successful show. I managed to pick up Wargames Factory women survivors, and Great War's Crimean War Coldstream Guards command from Dave Thomas. Other Ainsty purchases were the Crooked Dice Man from 2000 I want to use for a Blakes 7 game and a Dr Who game. GB & SD models supplied me with the Pegasus KV1's I was after and Valiant Minis/Rapid Fire publications solved my lack of German radio truck and ambulance. North Star came up trumps and I finally got my hands a Copplestones' Evil Genius's, providing me a a cyborg Fuhrer for my Moon Nazis. All I have to do is make and paint them!
The show was better laid out than earlier this year but still had pinch points that made it feel very busy as I went round. However when I went back through the halls/rooms is quite quiet considering it was 1pm. The games on display were up to a great standard, lots of great figures, terrain and game ideas. The view of games is always subjective but I liked them a lot, and now the piccies:
